Hi I'm new to this forum. I'm 71 years old, or I will be in another month and a few days. Born, raised and reside in East Texas. I've only been muzzleloading about 5 years. I have rifles that this forum is all about. 3 CVA's, all Hawkens types. A TC Pennsylvina Hunter, and a Pedersoli Frontier flintlock. All were used when I got them except for one of the CVA's. I cut patches, cast bullets and roundballs, and make my own lube. I wish I had gotten into muzzleloading much, much earlier in my life.

Hi Glad to find a new member(no matter how old) on this forum. We need everybody we can get. Guys post here one time and that's usually the last we hear of them. I wish it were different. For myself I will be posting here more as the winter starts to let go. Right now there is lots of snow and -2 outside. I too make almost everything. If you read my other posts you will know. I am looking for any of these old import and otherwise looked down upon guns. I can repair most things wrong with them and make them work.

Thanks for the welcome. I really enjoy shooting my muzzleloaders. I have only had the flintlock for about 6 months but I think it's going to be my favorite.

Hiya Boys,

Little bit of history on us round here in colorado. I'm Will and then there is Mrs. will and 4 younguns, Domonick 5, Hannah jo 4, jauquin 2, and anderson 1.

Mrs. Will is the daughter of a North Dakotan bow hunter and well she can't hit a nickel on the fly but she does pretty good at dropping med size bucks and does. She doesnt like rifles much unless they're scoped and I wont scope any of my rifles! I bought her a .50 cal. CVA Bobcat with a wood half stock, but she has never shot the thing. I think the short barrel makes for a nice brush gun but its a little to small for me.

I shoot several different rifles: .50 Traditions kentucky percussion rifle (kit), .50 CVA hawken pre-'75 percussion rifle, .50 Spanish Arms pre-'75 Hawken flintlock rifle, .45 Spanish Arms North Carolina full-stock poorboy flintlock rifle and last and truly my favorite .36 Traditions half-stock Appalachian Mountain Percussion rifle. I say its my favorite but I really like that .45 poorboy she shoots true and I have had only one misfire due to my own negligence of the touch hole.

Well that's my just checking in.
